Ant Haynes | Wodnut Athlete

Bio

Ant Haynes was HK Rugby 7's youngest captain. It appears he's a natural athlete playing soccer and rugby from the age of 5. In 2013 Ant discovered Crossfit. He's since converted his PT business (co-owned with his brother Ed) into an impressive Box on the outskirts of CBD HK (North Point). Coastal Fitness (CSTL) now boasts 200+ members and plays a major role in HK Crossfit Community hosting annual competitions for the region. In 2014 we saw Ant in his first Regional debut. Acheiving an outstanding 10th in the Asia region this is one to watch. His passion for sports, maturity for his age and ability make everything look super fun continues to inspire us.  You can follow Ant on his journey @anthayneshk or on Facebook.

Questions

Describe yourself in one sentence.

Hard working, committed and always up for a laugh

Who inspires you and why?

I'm not really one to be 'inspired ' as such, but I have a lot of people who I admire for their attitude and work ethic. The likes of: Chris Spealler (Crossfit), conor mcgregor (MMA), Kai Greene (Body building), Jonny Wilkinson (Rugby).

If you weren't doing this sport, what would you be doing?

I'd still be working in the industry with my second family at Coastal Fitness Performance Training/Crossfit CSTL.

What are the memorable moments you've experienced because of your sport?

Travelling the world with the sport (Dubai, Australia, Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, America). Meeting awesome people and making some great friends along the way.

What is the best advice you’ve ever been given?

"Stop being a b*%tch". It works for me because in Hong Kong I find myself living in a comfortable little bubble. I needed to learn to push myself and get out of my comfort zone. It may not be very inspiring and PC, but it worked for me. I generally say it to myself a lot nowadays!

What does "being healthy" mean to you?

Living a lifestyle that is enjoyable with little restriction that I'm 100% happy with

How do you find balance in your life?

Place yourself and your loved ones as number 1. Everything else comes after that. Sort your priorities out to give you happiness.

What do you like about Wodnut?

What they stand for. Great people. Awesome products. Always supportive. Ever improving

How would you describe your style? What would be your favourite item this season?

I really like the new casual t shirt with a longer fit and lower scoop neck. (WHAT'S THE OFFICIAL NAME?!) Oh, this sounds like our new Wodnut Scoop Neck Tee. Glad you love them and for everyone else they are dropping soon!!!

If I offered to buy you a drink at a coffee shop what would I be ordering?

A large black coffee with an extra shot, cream on the side.
